I know.........You don't know html (or php and ftp)....me either....You have tried so many times.........me too. I tried many free website builders. I watched hours of videos about building your own site........Still could not quite do it, so I got a quote to have someone do it for me. It was a good quote, but my budget was not quite good enough.
Back to the drawing board. I wanted my own web site.........would have to watch more video tutorials. I found all the first tutorials (mainly) in the internet marketing niche. If you are on many lists, you totally understand. Some were good, probably even very good, but they did not allow for my lack of skill. Do you know that feeling? when so many say how easy it is - just make a simple one page site to start - 'Easy for you, you have done it before'. Well I found an answer.
Now I can build web sites and you can too. So what happened? I downloaded another video tutorial on building web sites. No, it was not the answer, I have no idea if it was good or not. It may have been excellent. I couldn't understand it. You're thinking, 'she lacks the technical skill'....... aren't you? You are only half right. I couldn't understand the English, so I don't know if I could understand the computer terminology. Maybe not - I am definitely technically challenged.
So what did happen? Well, I thought, (seeing as all of the information on my desktop had come from the lists I subscribed too and was just slowing down my browser), I will try something different. So I asked google and found the greatest website builder anyone could wish for. Even better it was free. Now you too, can know 'How to build a website in 5 easy lessons".
I did my due diligence stuff. I checked out the size of the download, OK not as big as some (this is a good thing for downloads) Only 22.56 mb. (taken from my desktop control panel - website builder states more) OK so far, so good. Decided to download and check it out.
Easy to install, clear instructions and great, bite sized, video tutorials. I was ready to go. You can build a mock site and preview it on the web without publishing anything to the internet. Now you know exactly what everyone will see when they find your website.....make a couple of practise sites and became familiar with the icons. Not a great learning curve - as most are similar to Firefox and Internet Explorer. OK - you are ready to go - Are you thinking 'now comes the difficult part....ftp........cpanel.....all that technical stuff'? No No No, You just click an icon, click publish and you are on the internet..That's right......Two clicks and you are live.
